Welcome to Essentials for Christian Living!

Barry and Denise have been in the ministry for over 40 years.  They served in Christian schools together, and Barry has ministered as a youth pastor, and a pastor. For 20 years, Barry, Denise, and their children served as missionaries in Scotland. 

After returning to the states, Barry represented his mission board, BEMA, located in Columbus, Ohio, for several years. 

In 2021, Barry was asked to be the interim pastor at Perrysville Baptist Church in Perrysville, Ohio. After serving as the interim pastor for a year, Barry became their pastor on October 25, 2022. 

Barry and Denise have three grown children and nine grandchildren. They enjoy traveling to see family members, sitting by their outdoor fire pit, and watching their grandchildren play sports. 

Their favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
