Books by Rev. Barry R. Williams

The Beatitudes

I have studied the Beatitudes at length during various times in my ministry and finally compiled my studies into this book.

I love the Beatitudes because it’s a portion of Scripture that gives us Christ's description of what a Christian is. Not our description, but Christ's description. There’s a big difference between the two.

There are a lot of opinions about what a Christian is and what a Christian should be like, but here we have Christ’s description, the correct description.

Are you ready to find out what Christ's description of a Christian is?

The Storms in Our Lives

In this life, we are going to face disappointments. We are going to face life-changing news. Jobs will be lost. Health issues will arise.

We will face one storm after another. The rains will come; the floodwaters will rise. The wind will beat on our house. How prepared are we for these storms?

This is why we need to make sure that we have a solid foundation as a child of God. A foundation that is able to handle the fiercest of storms because a strong foundation will be a help to us when the storms come and life gets difficult.

Hopefully, this book will be a help to you as you experience storms in your life.

Paul's Second Missionary Journey

Paul's Second Missionary Journey

 How should we handle disagreements?

What should we do when God closes a door or when He changes our plans?

Why has God brought these people into my life?

Will we face opposition if we are in the center of God's will?

Does God really care about every individual?

This book takes us through Paul's second missionary journey. There is much we can learn from Paul's life, his ministry, and the decisions that he made on his second missionary journey because Paul faced many of the same setbacks, frustrations, and challenges that we face today.

Church Visitors

Our 20 year Journey as Missionaries to Scotland

Paul's Second Missionary Journey

I'm not sure how many churches I have been to with two years of deputation and six years of representing my mission board BEMA, but it has been a lot. From someone on the outside looking in...the issue of visitors needs to be addressed in our churches because very few churches get it right.

I hear church people say all the time, “We can't get visitors to come back.”

So, I'm addressing some things that I’ve seen over the years and things that I think
churches can improve on to hopefully help their churches grow.

As a church, we may only get one opportunity to persuade a visitor to come back. Unfortunately, some of the things we do (or don’t do) at times actually ensures that a visitor won't be back.

We need to hear our visitors say, “I want to come back to this church."

Our 20 year Journey as Missionaries to Scotland

This book tells of our 20 year journey as missionaries to Scotland. It was an incredible place to live, and a great experience for our entire family, but we also faced many challenges.

Life as a Christian is a struggle at times. You don't have to be a missionary or be in the ministry to face difficulties.  If you're a Christian, you are going to face some serious challenges.

The question is how are we going to handle the trials that come our way?

One of the main problems is that we don't understand how God works. Christians get frustrated and even quit the faith because of a lack of understanding of their God. The more knowledge we have of how our God operates the better we will understand His dealings in our life. In reality, we get upset and become bitter with God when He is just trying to move us in another direction.

God wants to take us on a wonderful journey. He is in control and has everything worked out for us. We just need to trust Him with all of our heart.

As God worked out every detail of our journey in Scotland for 20 years, God will do the same for you. See how God worked in our lives, and learn the lessons we had to learn. Hopefully this book will make your journey a little bit easier to travel.
